Here's a first-class, high quality mini-system for kitchen, den, bedroom, bookshelf or anyplace a mini system would fit best, with legendary Nakamichi quality. The R-1 is an AM/FM receiver and amplifier, and can be coupled with any mini CD player or mini cassette tape player. The units can connect with a short cable in the rear so that all functions will operate on both pieces, i.e., receiver, volume, station select, tuning, any CD player and the R-1 has a 110 v. outlet in back so any CD Player can plug in it for power so both can be turned on with one click of the front knob. Can be stacked (the R-1 receiver amplifier generates a bit of heat, so just ensure adequate air space between devices of 1/2" or so) or side-by-side. R-1 has six station (6) presets, tone controls, earphone plug, everything you'd find on a much larger stereo receiver.
Original cost $750, works perfectly, a quality mini system which far exceeds the Teacs, Aiwa, Pioneers, etc. of the world.
For speakers, suggest the Polk Audio bookshelf two-ways as they will work well with the amp in this mini system.
